What cookies we use, why we use them, and how you can control them on the Maggie Communications platform.
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website when you visit it. They allow the website to remember your actions and preferences over a period of time, so you don't have to re-enter information every time you return or navigate between pages.
Cookies can be "session cookies" (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent cookies" (remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them).
We use a minimal set of cookies that are necessary for the platform to function correctly:
| Cookie Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| PHPSESSID | Essential | Maintains your login session. Required to keep you authenticated as you navigate the platform. | Session (deleted on browser close) |
| loginId | Essential | Stores your account identifier after login to serve personalised content (wallet balance, account type). | Session |
| pinStatus | Essential | Tracks whether your transaction PIN has been set up to prompt you if needed. | Session |
| mc_analytics | Analytics | Anonymous usage statistics — pages visited, features used. No personally identifiable data is stored. | 90 days |
When you fund your wallet via Paystack or Monnify, those payment processors may set their own cookies as part of the secure payment flow. These cookies are governed by the respective providers' privacy policies and are necessary to complete your payment securely.
We have no control over these third-party cookies and they are removed once your payment session ends.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. The process varies by browser:
