By creating an account or using any part of the Maggie Communications platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
1 Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User") and Maggie Communications ("we", "us", "our"). These Terms govern your access to and use of our VTU platform, including all services, features, and content available at our website and mobile application.
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via your registered phone number or email. Your continued use of the platform after the effective date of any change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
2 Eligibility
To use Maggie Communications, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be a resident of Nigeria or accessing the platform from Nigeria
- Have a valid Nigerian phone number
- Not be prohibited from using digital financial services under Nigerian law
- Provide accurate and truthful registration information
We reserve the right to verify your identity and deny or revoke access to any user who does not meet these requirements.
3 Account Registration
When you register, you agree to:
- Provide your real name, phone number, state of residence, and a valid password and 4-digit transaction PIN
- Keep your password and PIN confidential and not share them with any third party
- Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account
- Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
Your transaction PIN is required to authorise every purchase. Never share your PIN with anyone, including Maggie Communications staff. We will never ask for your PIN.
4 Wallet & Payments
The Maggie Communications wallet is a pre-funded balance used to pay for services on the platform. The following conditions apply:
- Wallet funds may only be used to purchase services available on the platform.
- Wallet funding is processed via Paystack or Monnify. All funding transactions are subject to those providers' terms.
- Wallet balances are non-transferable between accounts unless an explicit transfer feature is made available.
- We are not a bank. Wallet balances do not earn interest.
- In the event of account closure, wallet balances will be refunded to the original funding source after identity verification, subject to our Refund Policy.
5 Services & Transactions
All VTU transactions on the platform (airtime, data, cable TV, electricity, exam cards) are subject to the following:
- Transactions are final once confirmed with your transaction PIN. You cannot reverse a completed transaction.
- Delivery of services (airtime top-up, data, electricity tokens) is typically instant but may be delayed due to network provider outages outside our control.
- You are responsible for entering correct recipient details (phone number, meter number, smartcard number). Transactions sent to wrong numbers cannot be reversed by us.
- Duplicate transactions (same service, same details within 60 seconds) are automatically blocked for your protection.
- Each transaction must use a unique reference number to prevent double-processing.
- Minimum and maximum transaction amounts apply and are displayed at the point of purchase.
6 Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to use the platform to:
- Engage in fraudulent transactions or provide false information
- Attempt to reverse, charge-back, or dispute legitimate completed transactions
- Use automated scripts, bots, or tools to interact with the platform in an unauthorised manner
- Attempt to access accounts belonging to other users
- Resell services at a profit beyond what is permitted under Agent/Vendor terms
- Use the platform for money laundering or any activity that violates Nigerian law
- Abuse the referral system by creating fake accounts
Violation of these prohibitions may result in immediate account suspension and reporting to relevant authorities.
7 Agent & Vendor Accounts
Agent and Vendor accounts are activated upon payment of the applicable one-time fee (β¦5,000 for Agent; β¦15,000 for Vendor). These account types unlock better pricing, bulk features, and API access. The following additional terms apply:
- Activation fees are non-refundable once the account upgrade has been processed.
- Agents and Vendors may resell services to end users but are responsible for their own customer relationships.
- Misuse of Agent/Vendor pricing (e.g. using discounted rates for personal consumption above reasonable limits) may result in downgrade or termination.
- API access is subject to fair use limits. Excessive automated calls that degrade service for other users may be throttled or suspended.
8 Intellectual Property
All content on the Maggie Communications platform β including the name, logo, design, software, text, and data β is owned by or licensed to Maggie Communications. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.
9 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Maggie Communications is not liable for:
- Losses arising from network provider outages or delays outside our control
- Transactions sent to incorrect recipient details provided by the user
- Losses arising from unauthorised account access where the user failed to keep credentials secure
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
Our total liability for any claim is limited to the value of the transaction(s) in dispute.
10 Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent activity, or posed a risk to other users or the platform. You may close your account at any time by contacting our support team. Upon closure, any remaining wallet balance will be refunded per our Refund Policy.
11 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall first be subject to good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be referred to arbitration in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act of Nigeria.
