When you register and use Maggie Communications, we collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: Full name, phone number, email address, state of residence, and account type.
- Authentication data: Hashed passwords and transaction PINs. We never store plain-text credentials.
- Transaction records: Service type, amount, recipient number/meter/smartcard, transaction reference, status, and timestamp.
- Wallet data: Wallet balance, funding history, and payment gateway references (Paystack/Monnify).
- Device & usage data: IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited β collected automatically when you use our platform.
- Referral data: If you were referred by another user, we record the referral relationship.
2 How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect solely to provide and improve our services:
- Processing your VTU transactions (airtime, data, cable TV, electricity, exam cards)
- Crediting and managing your wallet balance
- Sending transaction confirmation notifications via SMS or in-app alerts
- Verifying your identity and preventing fraud
- Calculating and crediting referral commissions
- Responding to customer support requests
- Improving platform performance and resolving technical issues
- Complying with applicable Nigerian laws and regulations
We do not use your data for advertising purposes. You will not receive third-party marketing communications as a result of using our platform.
3 Information Sharing
We only share your information with third parties in the following limited circumstances:
- Network providers (MTN, Airtel, Glo, 9Mobile): Recipient phone number and amount are shared to fulfil your airtime/data purchase.
- Cable TV providers (DSTV, GOTV, StarTimes): IUC/smartcard number and subscription plan to process your renewal.
- Electricity DISCOs: Meter number and amount to generate your electricity token.
- Exam bodies (WAEC, NECO, JAMB, NABTEB): Purchase quantity to fulfil scratch card orders.
- Payment processors (Paystack, Monnify): Wallet funding transactions are processed through these regulated gateways.
- Legal obligations: Where required by Nigerian law, a court order, or a lawful request from a government authority.
We never sell, rent, or trade your personal data to marketers, data brokers, or any unrelated third parties.
4 Data Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your data:
- Passwords are hashed using a secure one-way algorithm β even our staff cannot see your password.
- Transaction PINs are stored in hashed form and required to authorise all purchases.
- All data transmission between your device and our servers uses HTTPS/TLS encryption.
- API access is token-authenticated β every request must carry a valid session token.
- Duplicate transaction detection prevents accidental double-charges.
If you suspect unauthorised access to your account, change your password and PIN immediately and contact our support team.
5 Cookies & Tracking
We use session cookies to maintain your login state across page visits. These cookies are:
- Session cookies: Temporary cookies that expire when you close your browser. Used to keep you logged in.
- Analytics cookies: Anonymous usage data to understand how users navigate our platform and improve the experience.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this will prevent you from staying logged in to your account. See our Cookie Policy for more detail.
6 Your Rights
Under applicable Nigerian data protection regulations (NDPR), you have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate information (e.g. wrong name or phone number).
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Objection: Object to certain processing activities.
- Portability: Request your transaction history in a portable format (CSV).

7 Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active and as required by law:
- Account data is retained for the lifetime of your account plus 2 years after closure.
- Transaction records are retained for a minimum of 5 years to comply with Nigerian financial regulations.
- Login session tokens are invalidated upon logout or account closure.
8 Children's Privacy
Our platform is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has registered an account, please contact us immediately and we will delete the account and associated data.
9 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via your registered phone number or email at least 7 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
